The Folsom Lake College Students In Free Enterprise ( SIFE ) team attended the SIFE National Exposition in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in May 2009.

Folsom Lake College 's Students In Free Enterprise ( SIFE ) team won big at the April 6 regional competition, finishing first in all four of the competition's categories and receiving the Champions trophy for overall performance. As a result of these victories, the SIFE team will be moving on to
compete for the national title this May in Kansas City , MO. 
This year our team placed first runner-up in regional competition.

"The entire Folsom Lake College family is extremely proud of these students," said Dr. Thelma Scott-Skillman, President of Folsom Lake College. "Their long hours of preparation paid off in a big way. We celebrate their accomplishments and cheer them on as they get ready for the next level."

Twenty-two students served on the Folsom Lake College SIFE team, with faculty advisors Gerry Tryhane Dowell and Candy Smith. The regional competition (held in Hollywood, Ca ) featured a number of colleges making presentations and being judged in six categories:
entrepreneurship, personal financial success skills, business ethics, free market economics, program sustainability and environmental sustainability.
